The open house page also includes information about a question/answer session scheduled for Wednesday, August 26th.
A Local Waterfront Revitalization Program is a locally prepared land and water use plan for a community’s developed, natural, public, and working waterfronts. It provides a comprehensive framework within which a community’s vision for its waterfront can be formalized. By preparing and adopting a Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP), communities are electing to participate in New York State's Coastal Management Program (CMP), under the provisions of the Waterfront Revitalization of Coastal Areas and Inland Waterways Act.
The Town received a grant from the NYS Department of State to update it’s LWRP, which was last adopted in 1988. Working in partnership with Department of State, Irondequoit will engage in a planning process to update our vision for the the future of our waterfront, establish local policies and outline the implementation techniques needed to achieve our vision.
